Zamzam began as a grassroots response by immigrant women who recognized a glaring gap—culturally safe spaces for women and families did not exist at the scale needed. Many community members were navigating housing instability, domestic violence, healthcare access challenges, and underemployment without a trusted guide. From living rooms to community rooms, Zamzam grew—one family at a time—into a recognized nonprofit committed to both immediate relief and generational change.
Zamzam empowers women and families in Ohio by providing culturally responsive resources, opportunities, and support that promote independence, well-being, and success.
A future where every woman and family rises with strength, dignity, and opportunity—where cultural roots are honored, voices are empowered, and communities flourish in unity and resilience.
If women and families have timely access to culturally responsive stabilization (housing/food/safety), navigation support (healthcare, childcare, legal, employment), and empowerment opportunities (education, leadership, entrepreneurship), then they will build sustainable independence and contribute to stronger, more resilient communities.
ZWFC is committed to anti-discrimination and inclusion. We serve individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, immigration status, gender identity, or sexual orientation. We prioritize language access, trauma-informed care, and ADA accessibility.
We track outcomes rigorously: stabilization metrics (evictions prevented), economic mobility (training, employment), and civic participation (advocacy actions). Annual reports summarize outcomes, community feedback, and continuous improvement steps.
